How we use your information.

This is the one page on this website that means exactly what it says.

Who we are

gwbi.global is a satirical website created by Glitch Productions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11383938). GWBI (Global Worldwide Business International) is fictional: it is not a real company, the job vacancies are not real, and we do not recruit, sell services or publish reports through this site.

Glitch Productions Limited is the data controller for any personal information you give us through this website. If you have any questions about this notice or your information, email forms (at) gwbi.global.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us through the forms on this site:

  • Contact and “Start the conversation” forms: your name, company, email address and anything you write in the form.
  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
  • Report download and job application forms: the details you enter, such as your name, email address and job title.

When you submit a form, your answers are sent to us by email. Because the reports and jobs on this site are fictional, nothing is downloaded or reviewed as a real application.

Our forms include automatic spam protection. To limit repeated submissions, the website keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to one hour. We don't use it to identify you, and it is then deleted automatically.

How we use it, and why

  • To reply to you if you contact us. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to messages people send us.
  • To send you updates if you sign up to the newsletter. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We don't currently send a newsletter. If we start one, we'll only email people who signed up, and every email will include a way to unsubscribe.
  • To delete it if you submitted a report or job application form. We don't use these details for anything, and we delete them.

We never sell your information or use it for advertising.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores three small settings in your own browser, using local storage, so the site works the way you left it:

  • whether you have dismissed the cookie banner;
  • your personal best score in the Calendrix™ game;
  • whether you have turned the game's sound on or off.

These settings stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings.

Visitor statistics

To see how many people visit the site and which pages they read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device, and it does not track you across other websites. It records anonymous information such as the page you visited, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and how quickly the page loaded. Cloudflare does not store your IP address for this purpose.

Who we share it with

We don't share your information with anyone else, except with the companies that help run this website:

  • Our web and email hosting provider, which hosts the website, delivers form emails to us and keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and maintenance.
  • Cloudflare, which provides our anonymous visitor statistics, as described above. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on this site. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. Google may process this outside the UK. You can read Google's privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep form emails for up to 24 months, then delete them, unless we are still in conversation with you. Report download and job application submissions are deleted when we receive them. Newsletter sign-ups are kept until you ask us to remove you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it;
  • ask us to transfer your information to you or someone else.

To use any of these rights, email forms (at) gwbi.global. We'll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

This website is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
